Over IM this morning with Sean McGaughey he pointed out the recently Derek Miller of The Penmachine Podcast has a birthday fast approching! He has also received some news that isn’t so Happy. You can read about it on his blog, he has been amazingly open and honest, but I feel this is not the time or place to get into that in great detail. Anyways in light of all that we want to put togeher a bunch of Happy Birthday and Well Wishes for Derek. We need two things, first is some audio. Say whatever you want, from as simple as “Happy Birthday” or more personal if you choose. Mark Blevis has steped up to take on the task of editing it all together, so send your audio to markblevis@gmail.com. We would like to keep it short so try and keep comments to 5-10 seconds each. The other thing we need is to get the word out. Twitter it, Blog it, whatever you can do to help. We would like it to be a surprise but it’s not the end of the world if it gets out and we get more response! Check back to this post for update on how it’s going or if there is any new information!

I saw on Twitter when we were on the boat that Tim had an accident and we wanted to find out more about it and make sure he was OK so I DM’d him and below is the response I got.

”
I t-boned a car at low speed today in a small town near my house. It
pulled out from my right to go in the opposite direction that I was
travelling. I grabbed a fistfull of front brake and locked up my front
tire, then released just before impact. Witnesses say I went 15ft up
in the air and landed 50 ft on the other side of the car. My helmet
put a nice big hole in the windshield, though there’s nothing but
minor scratches on the helmet. I think my left shoulder dislocated on
impact, where I lay face down. Fortnately, aside from soft tissue
damage round my upper torso, that’s all that’s wrong with me. I’m sore
as hell though, left arm in a sling, right shoulder very painful, but
I’m able to type all this with my right hand. Got Percocet which
should help. Bike’s totalled, but I haven’t spoken with State Farm
yet.

After being tagged by Jay a while ago I’ve been slowly writing this post. I’ve had a hard time comming up with 8 things but I have. So here they are.

1) I played football for 7 years, all through High School and a couple years afterwards. That’s probably not too surprising but what would be is I actually played Running Back for a couple years.

2) While playing Running Back I broke my leg and dislocated my foot. To this day I still have steel plates in my leg and you can feel the screws, ask me I’ll show ya!

3) I can’t stand the thought of surgery, especially if it’s me. My second surgery on my leg they gave me the option of doing it then and there in the doctors office with a local and there was no way they were cutting into me without knocking me out first.

4) I shot a car with a BB Gun once when I was like 10 , completely by accident, and the cops showed up and no one would believe me. Truthfully I was shooting at a pop can or something stupid and never knew I hit the car till the police showed up.

5) I can’t stand being in larges crowds of strangers. Me and shopping at Christmas time are not a good mix. I get agitated easily especially at places like the License and Passport Offices.

6) I am an extremely picky eater. There is very little that I like, I can usually find something on any menu and lately I’ve been trying to expand what I eat.

7) I am a pack rat and the only tidy place I have is virtual. I have a real hard time throwing things out, I still have computers from when I was a child and only some of them still work, but I am obsessive over not having files on my desktop for any length of time and the file structure on my computers.

8 ) I am usually far faster/better at completeing meme’s I just had a real hard time with this one (thanks Sean for the idea for an easy number 8!)

OK so now I pass the game on to William Spaetzel, Vergel Evans and Brent Morris. More PAB2007ers that I don’t know a ton about, see ya there guys!
